Absolutely! In fact, appropriate strength training often helps reduce arthritis pain and stiffness. We work around your specific limitations and past injuries, not through them. Many of our clients have arthritis, previous surgeries, or chronic conditions – we design every exercise to accommodate your body’s needs while still challenging you appropriately. We’ll never ask you to do anything that causes pain or discomfort.
There’s no such thing as “too out of shape” to start. We’ve worked with clients who haven’t exercised in decades, and they’re now some of our strongest success stories. We start exactly where you are today not where you think you should be. Your first session is about assessment and getting comfortable, not proving anything to anyone.
Safety is our absolute top priority. Every exercise is demonstrated first, we start with supported movements, and we’re ALWAYS within arm’s reach during your session. We focus heavily on balance and stability training, which actually reduces your fall risk in daily life. Plus, all our trainers are certified in injury prevention and have experience working with mature adults.
Never. We use what we call the “Turbo 7 to 8” method – challenging enough to see results, comfortable enough that you feel good the next day. We want you to feel accomplished and energized after sessions, not beaten up. You’re in complete control of the intensity, and we adjust based on how you’re feeling that day.
While we always recommend discussing new exercise programs with your healthcare provider, we work with many clients who take medications and have various health conditions. We’ll ask about your medications and any restrictions your doctor has given you, then design your program accordingly. Many doctors actually refer their patients to us because they know we prioritize safety and professionalism.
